The Davidson Wildcats Men's Lacrosse Team started the season right with a win against SCAD by a score of 7-4 on a neutral field site at the Citadel. Davidson scored three goals in the first quarter, all by players new to Davidson lacrosse this season: sophomore midfielder Dan Devine (NY) store two, and first-year attackman Rob Heppenstall (SC) scored one. In the second quarter, Davidson and SCAD each scored one goal, with the Wildcat's goal scored by junior midfielder Garen Riedel (MA). In the second half, Davidson and SCAD both scored one goal in the third quarter and two goals in the fourth quarter, with first-year midfielder Ryan Robertson (VA) scoring his first SELC goal in the third, and sophomore attackman Jamie Butler (IN) scoring two goals in the fourth.
The team did a good job on defense, with strong performances by goalies Ben Ralston (CO) in the first quarter and Tim Curlett (NJ) in the remainder of the game. As always, our defense was excellent, with great play from juniors Geoff Fehling (PA) and Bron Tennis (PA), and sophomore defenseman John Hoke (WV).
