The Hakka Culture Institute is a secondary institute under Jiaying University which includes the Teaching & Training Department, Hakka Research Institute, Hakka Archives, Hakka Research Journal Editorial Office, the Hakka Traditional Culture Series Editorial Office, and the Academic Exchange Centre. Rao Zongyi, John Lagerwey, Hsieh Jiann, Deng Zhiyan, Lau Yee-chang, Yang Yanjie, Xie Zhongguang, Ellen Oxfeld, Eriberto P. Lozada Jr., and other scholars have been visiting scholars of the Hakka Culture Institute.

The 1998 Enrollment Plan of the Teaching &Training Department

HCI has two enrollments each year, one in spring, the other in autumn. The time for the entry for the spring semester is from October 1 to January 10 the following year. The spring semester begins on February 20. The time for the entry for the autumn semester is from April 1 to July 1.The autumn semester starts on September 1. The short-term training programs are open to registration all through the year.
