Following the vision of Rev. Rob Spach and the "Journey to Nicaragua," we would like to plan an "alternative spring break" to China. With the help of the Amity Foundation, a Chinese Christian non-governmental organization that provides a variety of social services to people in China who need their help, we are planning a service trip to China during the 2006 spring break. The goal of this service trip is, following Amity's own goal, is to build friendship with people while abiding by the principle of mutual respect in faith. We are currently planning a ten-day trip, where we would first fly to Shanghai before going to a rural community in Jiangxi Province. In the countryside, we will be working with local schools to help teach English and meet with people in rural farming communities.
