Teaching

Beginning in the autumn of 2011 I will be using Moodle to manage my course content. Click on the link below to access the Davidson Moodle page.

In the spring semester of 2013 I will be teaching Eco 202 - Intermediate Microeconomics. I will also be the lead instructor for Senior Session.

I teach urban economics and public economics as "s" courses, and when I teach sports economics I typically offer it as an "s" course. As a result, I want to provide you with as much help as I can as you strive to improve your writing. I've created a link to a handout on writing papers in economics, and I've also provided links to documents that you'll need for assignments that are subject to my "iterative writing" process. (Papers for Economics 101 are not subject to the "iterative writing" process.)

Curriculum Vitae

More about me...

During the summer of 2011 Mark Foley and I completed two papers on sports economics, and we co-authored a third paper with Brian Strow (who teaches at Western Kentucky). I also co-authored a paper with Dr. Christina Zenker (formerly of Salem College) that looks at the role of gender and high school preparation in influencing major selection at Salem and Davidson. Finally, I am finishing a co-authored paper that examines changes in urban spatial structure in 19th century New York City. My co-authors for the paper are Jack DeLoach (class of 2012) and Ida Bastiaens (graduate student in public policy at the Uninversity of Pittburgh). Please check my CV for a full list of my professional activity.
