The Others group at William Carlos Williams' house in April 1916; front row (left to right): Alanson Hartpence, Alfred Kreymborg, Williams, Skipwith Cannell; back row (left to right): Jean Crotti, Marcel Duchamp, Walter Arensberg, Man Ray (?), Pitts Sanborn, Maxwell Bodenheim (Murphy 194).
Others initially dedicated its pages to poetry, but in its ongoing effort to stay new and different, it began to experiment with other genres and forms, publishing reviews and plays. In January 1919 (Vol. 5: No. 2), Others published its first art reproductions: Samuel Halpert's "Interior," Charles Prendergast's "Crepuscule," and Charles Demuth's "New England Houses," an image similar to his 1916 watercolor, "Red Chimneys" (right).

The issue also included William Zorach's "Sailing," a linoleum cut print similar to "Sunrise" (1916), which probably came from the same series.
