Camp Q: [Lolita] The camp where Dolores Haze goes the summer before her thirteenth birthday. Wake up call is at 6:30 every morning. Also sight where Lolita first had sexual intercourse.

Canada: [Lolita] Humbert went on an expedition to Arctic Canada (with an ambiguous goal) with the brother one of his psychologists. Here he experienced an abeyance in his lust for nymphets.

Catullus: [Lolita] Little is known about the personal life of Gaius Valerius Catullus, a Latin poet who lived approximately from 84-54 B.C. He is known for his infatuous lyric poetry, dedicated to his mistress Lesbia, and such pieces have been imitated by a myriad of English poets. For Catullus, Lesbia was an obsession, and his love for her became his religion. He is also said to bet he precursor to Ovid, along with the medieval tradition of courtly love.

Central Park: [Lolita] While living in New York City Humbert tried to find nymphets there.

Champion, Colorado: [Lolita] The city to which Humbert takes Lolita after leaving the Beardsley School. Humbert feels safe there because no one from the school has telephoned and no one knows he's there; they think he is in Hollywood.

Champion Hotel: [Lolita] The hotel at which Humbert and Lolita spend the night when they stay in Champion, Colorado.

Chapman, Avis: [Lolita] One of Lolita's friends at the Beardsley School for Girls: a "plump, lateral" child with "hairy legs."

Chateaubriandesque: [Lolita] A reference to Francois Rene de Chateaubriand, a French writer who was considered to be a forerunner of Romanticism.

Chatfield, Mrs.: [Lolita] The mother of Phyllis Chatfield; attendant at the Murphy-Fantasia wedding who accosts Humbert in order to engage him in small talk.

Chatfield, Phyllis: [Lolita] Daughter of Mrs. Chatfield; takes turns with Dolores Haze and Barbara Burke having sex with Charlie Holmes at Camp Q.

Children-Colors: [Lolita] A play written by Clare Quilty and Vivian Darkbloom. Lolita see a preformance of the play at the Magic Cave. Humbert believes the idea of the play originated from James Joyce. The play involves young girls portraying the colors of the rainbow. Humbert is especially excited by the girls portraying Orange and Emerald.

Children's Encyclopedia: [Lolita] Humbert looks through it in the prison library for the photos of Girl Scouts.

Chum: [Lolita] Humbert's nickname for his .32 calibur handgun that he uses to kill Clare Quilty.

Clark, Clarence Choate, Esq.: [Lolita] Humbert's lawyer (District of Columbia), passes on to John Ray, Jr., Humbert's manuscipt. Ray is Clark's good friend and relation.

Confession of a White Widowed Male: [Lolita] The original subtitle given to Humbert's manuscript.

Coalmont: [Lolita] The industrial town where Dolores Haze has taken up residence with her husband, Richard Schiller.

Cooper, Dr.: [Lolita] He interrupts Humbert and Annabel.

Corfu: [Lolita] A Greek island where Annabel Leigh dies of typhus.

Corn Palace: [Lolita] The Corn Palace is located in Mitchell, South Dakota. It was first constructed in 1892 as a tribute to Mitchell's farmland. The building's exterior is currently decorated with 3,000 bushels of corn in addition to its Morrish minarets and towers.

Crater Lake: [Lolita] Located in southern Oregon on the crest of the southern Cascade Range. The lake lies in a crater created by a volcano and is 6 miles in diameter, 26 miles in circumference. Crater Lake and the area surrounding was declared a National Park in 1902.

Cyrano de Bergerac, Savinien: [Lolita] A seventeenth century French satirist and dramatist who became the basis of many romantic legends, the most famous of which is Edmond Rostand's play Cyrano de Bergerac. In this play, he is portrayed as a lover who is intelligent and charming but shy and ugly and in possession of a very large nose. One of Lolita's acting drills includes "palpatat[ing] the face of" such figures as Cyrano's face with a very large nose. Lola's acting drills are one of the things which Humbert loves to watch.
