Insomnia Lodge: [Lolita] Humbert's nickname for the Ramsdale hotel where he spent a sleepless night before killing Clare Quilty.

Isabel: Isabel is an attractive English woman who occupies the room next to Kern in "Wingstroke". He becomes smitten with her, but her interest in him is more ambiguous. She is an excellent skier and ski-jumper, and dies in mid-air during a ski-jump competition. During a night ski, she meets an angel and entertains him in her room that night and the next. On the second night, Kern enters in a drunken stupor to ask for relations before he kills himself. He is surprised by the angel, who enters through the window. Kern knocks him out with a guitar and locks him in a wardrobe. The angel escapes before Kern can return with a gun. The angel appears and crushes Isabel's ribs during her ski-jump, causing her death.
