Baden-Württemberg on the Web

As one of the most prosperous federal states in Germany today, Baden-Württemberg has a reason to be optimistic.  The Bundesland knows that it is more than the land of Black Forest cake and cuckoo clocks.  Baden-Württemberg's  unemployment rate, per capita income, and overall economic growth is consistently among the best in Germany.

Baden-Württemberg borders France to the west and Switzerland to the south.  The state's Hauptstadt, Stuttgart, holds an impressive position in the industrial economy of Germany.   It is home to the international headquarters of automakers Daimler-Chrysler and Porsche.  Baden-Württemberg is also home to technology giant Bosch and the German headquarters of IBM.  In fact, the economy of the region is so large that it maintains its own stock exchange at the Börse-Stuttgart

Baden-Württemberg is also a popular tourist destination for many travelers.  The federal state is home to the world famous Schwarzwald and the world's tallest cathedral in Ulm. Other important cities include Freiburg and Heidelberg.
