Schleswig-Holstein on the Web

Schleswig-Holstein is Germany's northern-most Bundesland and borders Denmark to the north, Niedersachsen to the southwest, Hamburg to the south, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to the southeast.  Schleswig-Holstein has a great maritime history due to its geographic position between the Ostsee and the Nordsee.  The capital city of Schleswig-Holstein is Kiel, and its largest city is the port city Lübeck

Fishing is Schleswig-Holstein's largest industry, but tourism and industry based in Hamburg also employ a large segment of the population. The ocean, the region's natural beauty, and the historical significance of its port cities have made Schleswig-Holstein a popular tourist destination.
