Served as a consultant to the United Nations, World Bank, US Department of Defense, U.S Department of State, and National Security Agency. Discussed US policy and Latin America-related issues on US and Latin American radio and television programs such as National Public Radio, Univision, Voice of America, and CNN. Submitted congressional testimony on Colombia’s civil war. Referee for the Journal of Latin American Politics and Society.
