Produced as a consultant to World Concern and the International Committee of  the Red Cross; the report was based on a ten day survey of famine conditions in the interior of southern Somalia.

Principal advisor to the "Refugee Resource Project," Cairo, Egypt,  February-July 1991.

Responsibilities included the researching and writing of the grant proposal -- a $15,000 six month project funded by the Ford Foundation, to research a range of issues related to refugee outreach programs in Egypt; and subsequent consultations with the three-person research team.
