Background

I am an education policy researcher with interests in quantitative educational policy analysis and the economics of education. My current research examines the effectiveness of teacher workforce policies, especially in urban schools. I teach Introduction to Education Policy and Evaluating Educational Innovation, and my students continually impress me with their ability to find new ways to look at longstanding educational challenges. I enjoy collaborating with students to generate new policy research projects.

Before earning my Ph.D., I taught sixth grade math and science in New York City and worked with a nonprofit educational organization that advised urban school districts on their workforce policy.
