  • Community Impact

Pre-med students have many opportunities to gain hands-on experience and have a significant impact in the community. For example, students piloted a nutrition-based public health and education program for local adults and children that aims to reduce non-communicable diseases through healthier eating.

Pre-Medicine and Allied Health

Davidson has a rich tradition in the pre-professional training of doctors, and its students are, and continue to become, leaders in the medical profession. The liberal arts education you receive here prepares you, as a future health services provider, to meet the challenges and shoulder the responsibilities that await you.

The Pre-Medicine Program emphasizes allopathic medicine (M.D.), though the program director and advisors can provide information and resources related to other health professions, including osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, optometry, physical therapy, physician's assistant, public health, nursing, etc.

Whatever your specific interests are, you should meet with Program Director Naila Mamoon at namamoon@davidson.edu early in your college career to discuss a plan of study.
