I've been a professor at Davidson for many years, teaching courses on early Christianity, as well as a Latin course called Latin Christian Writers.
Chief among my interests are early Christian narratives, including Gospels, Acts of Martyrs, and Saints' Lives. My research interests are in Christianity in early Anglo-Saxon England.
I'm a member of the American Society of Church History, and the North American Patristics Society, as well as former president of the American Academy of Religion, Southeast Region.
