I teach all levels of acting, directing and devised theatre for the Theatre Department and I direct one production annually.  I have served on numerous committees at Davidson including: The Professional Affairs Committee, The Educational Policy Committee, The Admissions Committee, The Presidential Search Committee, The Honorary Degree Committee and the Strategic Planning Task Force.

At Davidson, my directing highlights include: Fiddler on the Roof, Pride and Prejudice, Tartuffe, Company, Summer and Smoke, Cabaret, Angels in America: Part I, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Hay Fever, and Six Degrees of Separation. My production of She Loves Me won the 2005 "Best College Production" Metrolina Theatre Association Award.

I have directed professionally at Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, The Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Festival Stage of Winston Salem, Blowing Rock Theatre Company, Mill Mountain Theatre (Roanoke), Victory Gardens  (Chicago), Theatre Factory (St. Louis) and Theatre Project (St. Louis). My professional directing highlights include: In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Goat, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Rumors, Keep on the Sunny Side, Intimate Apparel, and Mrs. Klein. My production of Theresa Rebeck's The Scene at Actor's Theatre of Charlotte won 10 Metrolina Theatre Awards including outstanding direction and outstanding comedy.

I am an active member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) and served on ATHE's Governing Council in the roles of: ATHE's Strategic Planning Committee Chair, the Vice President of Advocacy, the Rationales Task Force Chair, and Directing Focus Group Representative.

My honors and awards at Davidson College consist of: The Samuel and Mary E. Thatcher Professorship, The Hunter-Hamilton Love of Teaching award, the SGA Faculty award and the Boswell Fellowship.
