The "Congressional
Record" is issued with a daily edition with index, and a permanent
edition, Issued at the end of the session, with the text revised and
rearranged from the daily edition. It includes an index for that
session and a "History of Bills and Resolutions". During the
43rd to 46th Congresses, the Record continued to have separate indexes for
the Senate and House proceedings. From the 47th Congress (1882) there
is a unified index for both houses. The "Daily Digest" appeared
with the Record of the 80th Congress (1947). From January 1968 (90th
Congress, 2nd Session) a new heading, "Extension of Remarks", is used
in place of the "Appendix". Another heading appeared in
February 1970 (91st Congress, 2nd Session), titled "Additional Remarks
(statements) of Senators", where statements, not made orally during the
legislative sessions are inserted in the Record. Moorhead,
