Mary [Irwin] Belk Hall

 

Dates: Groundbreaking ceremony April 24, 1980. Hall first occupied in September 1981.
Quote: The new room feature a modular furniture system which allows many different room arrangements, including several types of lofts. Students build lofts by stacking their beds on any two of the other furniture pieces: the closet, bureau-and-shelf, or desk-and-shelf. Mann, Jeffrey. Named for:  The wife of William Henry Belk and mother of five Davidson alumni, Mary Irwin Belk also attended Davidson College for one summer session.
