The Davidson Monthly is the earliest known student publication at Davidson College. Issues were printed between March 1870 and March 1872. Described by its editors as "A magazine devoted to Science, Literature and Art," the Monthly contains copies of student speeches, essays on a variety of topics, poems, editorials, and occasionally, copies of speeches given by visiting lecturers on campus. As such, it provides a look at the interests and literary tastes of Davidson students.
