The development of the Smith Rare Book Room is due in large part to the generosity of Davidson College alumnus, faculty members and benefactors. The majority of the holdings in the Smith Rare Book Room have been received as gifts or acquired with support from friends of the library. The Director of the Library and other staff members welcome inquiries from individuals or organizations interested in adding to the library's holdings.
