What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary loan, or ILL as it is commonly referred to, is a cooperative service among libraries which allows Davidson students, faculty, and staff to acquire materials not available in the Davidson College Library.

Who is eligible to use Interlibrary Loan?

Only current Davidson College students, faculty, and staff are eligible to use interlibrary services at Davidson College. Others may use the public library for interlibrary services.

What kinds of materials can I acquire through Interlibrary Loan?

We borrow books and microforms through interlibrary loan as well as acquire photocopied articles which don't have to be returned.

How do I get my documents?

Students, faculty, and staff are notified by email when their items have arrived at the library. Feel free to call the ILL office at 894-2159 to check on the status of your requested items or go to the 'Select ILL form' drop down menu in this web page and choose the 'Check the status of your request' form.  Fill it out, and we will receive it via email.

Documents will be mailed to you via campus mail or they will be put on the web server for you to access them in the Electronic Article Delivery website.
