Medline (PubMed)
Off-Campus access available; no password required.
(1950 to present) Includes citations and abstracts to articles in over 5,200 biomedical, life sciences, behavioral sciences, chemical sciences, and bioengineering journals. This version of Medline is from the National Library of Medicine, which also provides links to some full-text articles as well as access to other health-related databases.
The library also has Medline through Web of Knowledge (1950 to present).

(c. 1900 to present) A multidisciplinary resource that provides citations to articles in over 10,000 journals in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Includes:

Contains over 38,000 e-books published by over 220 academic, trade, and professional publishers; covers all subject areas. Also includes tools that allow you to create your own virtual bookshelf, bookmark pages, and add and save notes and highlights.

A collection of open access, peer-reviewed biology and medical journals. Includes PLoS Biology, PLoS Clinical Trials, PLoS Computational Biology, PLoS Genetics, PLoS Medicine, and PLoS Pathogens. PLoS is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 with the goal of making scientific and medical literature freely accessible. The Davidson College Library is a Sponsor of the PLoS.

Some databases, like the Hazardous Substance Data Bank (HSDB), contain factual information ; others, like TOXLINE, contain citations to journal articles, books, and technical reports.
