Provides more than 837,000 definitions. You can search for either the acronyms and abbreviations or the definitions.

Contains the full text of the 22nd edition of the Diccionario de la Lengua Española (Real Academia Española, 2001). Over 200,000 definitions; also contains etymologies.

Dictionary of the Scots Language

Contains the fully-searchable text of the two major historical dictionaries of the Scots Language, The Dictionary of the Older Scottish Tongue (DOST), which provides information about words from the twelfth century to the end of the seventeenth century, and The Scottish National Dictionary (SND), which covers words in use from the eighteenth century through the present day.

Perseus Digital Library
Off-Campus access available; no password required.
An evolving digital library of resources related to ancient Greece. The Perseus Digital Library contains more content than the CD-ROM listed above. In addition to Greek texts, there are also works by Latin and Renaissance authors. This Web version also contains more images and more reference tools (such as Smith's Dictionary of Greek and Roman Antiquities, Smith's Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography, and several lexica, dictionaries, and encyclopedias) and is updated more frequently.

Contains the full text of Webster's Third New International Dictionary Unabridged, one of the finest descriptive dictionaries for the English language. Over 472,000 definitions.
The Library has several copies of the print version of this dictionary in Reference at call number R 423 W38n3, 1971.
