Education: M.B.A., University of Edinburgh Business School in Scotland
Current Position: Consultant, Dunia Social Innovation
Since graduating from Davidson, Alanna Ford worked at Women's Funding Network in San Francisco and completed her masters degree at the University of Edinburgh Business School in Scotland. She then started her own business, Dunia Social Innovation, that works with social enterprises, charities, and governments from around the world in elevating their social impact.
As a Belk Scholar, Alanna used one of her summer stipends to work with the Self-Employed Women's Association in India and another working on an organic farm in Italy and taking an art therapy course in Spain. She appreciated that Davidson students took the initiative to invest in the wider community and formed two organizations herself: EPIC (Ending Poverty in Charlotte) and FLY (For Loving Yourself). EPIC connects Davidson students with the Charlotte homeless population and FLY promotes healthy living and self-love through activism.
