Education: Ph.D. in Neurobiology, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Current Position: Professor of Psychology at Bucknell University
The second Belk Scholar, Jennie Stevenson has enjoyed contributing to the growth of the Belk Scholar community and watching the Belk Scholar program develop. While at Davidson Stevenson balanced her time between her neuroscience courses, swim practices and competitions, and work with Libertas and the rape awareness committee.
She had come into Davidson knowing that she wanted to teach, and then found neuroscience to fit her interests perfectly. After graduating, she worked in Prof. Julio Ramirez's lab until the fall and then went to UNC Chapel Hill where she worked as a lab tech in the Pharmacology Department and eventually earned a Ph.D. in neurobiology from the university. Stevenson completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago and has been teaching psychology, neuroscience, and animal behavior courses at Bucknell University since 2010.
