Luke Farmer '04

Major: History; Minor: Spanish
Education: University of Alabama School of Medicine (final year); Masters of Divinity, Duke University

Belk Scholar Alumnus Luke Farmer is in his fourth and final year at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He followed a rather nontraditional path, attending Duke Divinity School and receiving a Masters of Divinity after graduating from Davidson.

Due to the academic and financial freedom of the Belk Scholarship, Farmer feels that he was able to make the most of his Davidson education and will be a better doctor because of the experiences the Belk led him to during and after college.

While at Davidson he majored in History with a minor in Spanish. He also served on the Honor Council for four years; performed as the lead in the fall 2001 musical; sang for the Davidson Concert Choir, Chambers Singers, and The Generals; spent a semester abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland; and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
