Changes to Homecoming Schedule

Given the impact of Hurricane Joaquin, there have been some changes to the Homecoming 2015 schedule. Please review the weekend schedule below.

Based on current forecasts for wind and rain and the possible effects of such weather, please review the schedule below for updates on each event.

Friday, October 2

Noon-4 p.m.
Diversity at Davidson: An Interracial Dialogue on Racism
Multicultural House
Director of Multicultural Affairs Tae-Sun Kim and Chair and Associate Professor of Educational Studies Hilton Kelly will facilitate and sustain a dialogue on racism with a racially diverse and balanced group of alumni. Registrants for will learn how to create a safe and transformative learning space by sharing personal stories of how they learned what race they were, learning how their racial group is positioned in relation to other racial groups, and acknowledging the conscious and unconscious decisions they make every day as a racialized individual living in a multiracial nation.

Space is limited but alumni of all racial backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to apply. The application window has closed but if you are still interested in attending, please fill out this questionnaire by Tuesday, Sept. 29, and notify Tae-Sun Kim at  A box lunch will be provided to those attendees selected for the dialogue.

A Night of Jazz featuring Joe Lindsay
Summit Coffee Outpost, Patterson Court

Homecoming Tailgate - CANCELLED

Next to Baker Sports Complex; Rainsite- Brown Atrium, Alvarez College Union
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families are welcome to enjoy food trucks, music, a cash bar, and other pre-game festivities. Activities for children will be available.

Davidson Men's Football vs. Valparaiso
Richardson Stadium
Join students and fellow alumni to cheer on the 'Cats in their Homecoming game. Visit the Ticket Office for game day information. Use the promotion code ALUMNI to purchase half-price tickets!

Cornhole Tournament for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 
Moved to rainsite: Lilly Gallery, Chambers Building

Turner House will host an afternoon of cornhole, music, food, and fun, all to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Prizes include cornhole t-shirts, gift cards from Toast, the Village Store, Ben & Jerry's, and more! Join us in the fight against blood cancers.

Phis for G.I.s- CANCELLED
Davidson Town Green
Come out and enjoy this annual event to support the military and our nation's veterans. Country music star Josh Thompson will be performing. General admission tickets, which include a meal and drink, are $20; $10 for students. Members of the military, active duty, veterans, and children under the age of 12 are free. Homecoming Party: BBQ Under the Stars
Moved to rainsite- Brown Atrium, Alvarez College Union

A new homecoming tradition for students and alumni. Come watch student performers, enjoy games on the lawn under the stars, listen to Works and Days, all while eating free bbq from Queen City Co. It will be a night to remember!
