General Information

Here are some useful tips and information as you make your plans to return for Reunion Weekend.

Registration

The registration deadline is Friday, May 22. To make any changes to your reservation or to cancel, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 704-894-2110 or email reunion@davidson.edu

Welcome Center

Stop here as soon as you arrive on campus! Visist the Welcome Center in the Nancy O. Blackwell Alumni House, located at 420 N. Main Street to check in and pick up registration materials. Short-term parking for those checking in is available in the Smith House and Admission parking lots.

Dietary Restrictions

Our caterers will do their best to accommodate individuals with special dietary restrictions. However, they must know in advance. It is imperative that you submit your registration by Friday, May 22 so we can provide you with the meals you need. Last minute requests maybe not be possible to accommodate.

Parking

Parking throughout the weekend is available in the Baker Sports Complex parking lot off Concord Road. Short-term parking is available in the Smith House and Admission parking lots.

Shuttles

Prior to and following the signature events of the weekend, golf carts will be available to shuttle guests to and from the Baker Sports Complex parking lot as well as between event locations. If you need a ride to or from campus, please call Yellow Cab of Lake Norman at 704-664-3232.

Emergency Information

If an emergency arises while you are attending Reunion Weekend, family and friends may contact the Davidson College Campus Police at 704-894-2178. Please make sure they know the class with which you are associated.

Weekend Photos

A photographer will be on campus throughout the weekend to take candid photographs. These photos, along with your official class photo, will be available through our online gallery shortly after the weekend. Davidson College reserves the right to use these photos in future promotional materials. If you have privacy concerns, please email us.

Attire

Dress for the weekend is usually casual. The class dinner attire is dressy casual unless indicated otherwise by your reunion committee. Please note that many of the weekend events will take place outside on lawns or under tents. Please check the weather forecast as the weekend approaches.

Refund Policy

In order to grant a refund, we must receive notice of cancellation. No refund requests will be accepted after Friday, May 22. Refunds requested prior to the deadline will be mailed following Reunion Weekend. Please contact the Office of Alumni Relations with questions at 704-894-2111 or email us.

Scholarships

Davidson tries to keep reunion costs to a minimum while offering a wide range of quality activities. Should your financial situation prevent you from attending, please contact Marya Howell in the Office of Alumni Relations by email or call 704-894-2642 to discuss your options confidentially.

Special Assistance

If you require special assistance during Reunion Weekend, we are happy to help! Reunion Weekend facilities and on-campus housing locations are ADA-compliant. Please contact Judith Roweles in the Office of Alumni Relations by email or call 704-894-3003 to arrange accommodations.

Nisbet Fitness Center

The fitness center will be available throughout the weekend. It is equipped with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, Nautilus equipment, exercise balls, and stretching mats. The fitness center is located on the first floor of the Alvarez College Union and will be accessible from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday. (Note: Baker Sports Complex will only be open and available on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5p.m.)

Reflection and Memorial Space

We invite you to visit the Oasis, a new reflection, meditation, and prayer space provided by the Chaplain's Office, located on the fourth floor of the Alvarez College Union. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lake Campus

Open for alumni between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily during Reunion Weekend. Bring a bathing suit, picnic and your nametga to present to the gate attendant for admittance! As a reminder, no alcohol is allowed.

  • To reach the Lake Campus (152 Lake Campus Drive) from Davidson, take I-77 north to exit 31 (Langtree Road). Go left/west on Langtree Road for .7 miles. At the traffic circle take the second exit to stay on Langtree Road and proceed .3 miles to Lake Campus Drive. Take a right on Lake Campus Drive and follow to the gatehouse entrance. Parking is available.

Tee Times available at River Run Country Club

For anyone wishing to play golf on Friday, June 5, River Run Country Club will be providing tee times for Reunion Weekend attendees. River Run is a private golf club three miles east of campus and is home of the Men's Golf team and host site of the Chiquita Classic, a web.com playoff event. For more information, please call the River Run Pro Shop at 704-896-7355.

Alcohol Policy

Open containers are not permitted outdoors on the Davidson Campus. Davidson Campus Police will enforce this policy throughout the weekend.

Reunion Updates

Text REUNION to 94253 to sign up for Reunion Weekend 2015 text alerts to receive information about registration, location changes, and possible rain plans. You will receive no more than three messages prior to the weekend and no more than five during Reunion Weekend. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to quit.

Children's Activities and Childcare

Bring your kids along! Reunion Weekend is structured with families in mind. There will be plenty of on-campus activities that will appeal to both children and teens. Several athletic and classroom back-to-school classes on Friday are designed to be family friendly.

Babysitting
A list of Davidson community members will be provided to alumni interested in hiring a babysitter during Reunion Weekend. Please email us for a copy of the list. The babysitters listed are recommended by members of the Davidson community. All questions regarding scheduling, availability and payment should be made directly with the babysitter. Please note the college does not provide training or supervision of the babysitters, nor has it performed background checks on the babysitters listed.

Camp Reunion
For those with children ages 4-16, we are pleased to offer specific event through Camp Reunion on Friday and Saturday evenings. Children and teenagers will be provided dinner and a variety of age-appropriate activities throughout the evening. If your child has special dietary restrictions, you are more than welcome to pack a special dinner. Davidson students who have completed background checks will supervise Camp Reunion. Pre-registration is required in order to maintain a safe adult-to-child ratio. Keep this in mind when registering children of different ages. We must group them based on age (4-6), (7-11), (teens) to maintain the ratio. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins, children who are under the age of four or children who are not potty-trained.

The price is $30/child/night. This includes dinner and snacks. Dinner on Friday will be pizza and Saturday will be chicken nuggets. Both dinners will come with drinks, fruit, etc. Movies for ages 4-11 will be PG and for ages 12-16 will be PG-13. Limited space is available.

Registering Children
Children must be registered in order to be accounted for during the weekend. Be sure to note the costs for children's meals on the registration form, as well as the sign up for Camp Reunion. Other events throughout the weekend are free for children to join. (Note-It is not encouraged to bring children to class dinners).

Special Note
Davidson does not own any equipment or materials for children such as high chairs, cribs, and diapers. Please make arrangements for anything you might need prior to your arrival in Davidson. Email us if you have questions.
