Team Members

The Davidson Next team includes subject-matter experts who are familiar with Advanced Placement courses and examinations. Davidson College faculty serve as content editors for AP modules, and oversee design of modules and their component units. This includes developing content (lecture scripts, interactive tools, and assessment questions), recruiting expert AP instructors from high schools nationwide to serve as instructors for individual units, and maintaining a standard of quality and coherence across units.

Core Team

Pat Sellers

Pat Sellers, Ph.D.
Vice President for Strategic Partnerships (project supervisor)
Davidson College

In addition to my role as vice president for strategic partnerships I teach in Davidson's Political Science Department. My current responsibilities focus on developing collaborations between Davidson and foundations, corporations, and other educational institutions, in order to create new opportunities for Davidson students, faculty, and staff. I also lead Davidson's planning for SACS reaccreditation, supervise the Davidson Next project with edX and College Board, and work with campus constituencies to expand the use of data analytics in decision making. I came to Davidson in 2000 and have published numerous articles in leading journals of political science, as well as an award-winning book, Cycles of Spin.
