A native of Delaware, Philip Gerard is the author of nine books of fiction and nonfiction, most recently Down the Wild Cape Fear and The Patron Saint of Dream, winner of the 2012 Gold Medal for Essay/Creative Writing Nonfiction from the Independent Publisher. He teaches in the Department of Creative Writing at UNC Wilmington.
Philip Gerard will judge the R. Windley Hall and Charles E. Lloyd Awards in Writing and announce student winners during the event. There will be a book signing. This event is free and open to the public; no tickets required.
