The A.C.G.I. (Anybody Can Get It) Tap Company was formed in 2001 by Emmy Award winner Jason Samuels Smith and has been featured at national dance festivals and on television programs such as So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. The creative concept behind the company involves showcasing the skills of an eclectic group of tap dancers that are able to hold their own as soloists, in addition to performing a challenging repertoire of original group choreography. The catalyst of A.C.G.I. is the idea that anybody can get better at what they do through hard work, dedication and commitment.
As the choreographer and artistic director, Jason Samuels Smith often finds inspiration for his works both in the legacy of the past and in the hope of tap’s thriving future. The audience will enjoy a cappella works in addition to performances with live musical accompaniment. Jason Samuels Smith’s A.C.G.I. showcases advanced musicianship through the performance skill of improvisation and the original collaborations of some of the greatest feet in the business today.
