Southeast German Studies Workshop on War, Language, and Borders/Boundaries
Davidson College welcomes the Seventh Southeast German Studies Consortium's Workshop to campus. The SEGS Consortium is an organization established in 2007 to foster scholarly exchange among faculty and students in the southeastern United States interested in the history, society and cultures of German-speaking Central Europe. Seeing the ongoing need for a forum for scholarly exchange among German Studies professors and students in the region, the SEGS Consortium brings together more than 50 historians, cultural studies, literature and language scholars from Texas to Washington, D.C. for its annual workshops.
The core of
each of the workshops lies in three panel sessions. Each session is
organized around one of the workshop’s three main themes. In the year of
the centennial of the First World War, the themes are "War,"
"Language," and "Borders/Boundaries". Davidson College is pleased to be
co-hosting the event with UNC Charlotte. The public is kindly invited to
attend the presentations and discussions!
