End-of-Year Choir Masterworks Performance: Jubilate Deo by Dan Forrest

Celebrating the conclusion of our 10th Anniversary season, Davidson College Choirs and the Choral Arts Society of Davidson join with professional instrumentalists from the Charlotte Symphony to perform living composer Dan Forrest’s newest major work, Jubilate Deo! Forrest’s composition brings to life the global aspect of the traditional Psalm 100 text, “O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands,” by drawing from a wide spectrum of musical influences and setting it in different languages including Latin, Hebrew, Arabic, Mandarin, Zulu, and Spanish. The result is a stunning global celebration of joy, as all the earth sings as one, “omnis terra, jubilate!”

There will be a pre-concert talk at 1:30 p.m. in the C. Shaw Smith 900 Room with Dr. Tara Villa Keith sponsored by DavidsonLearns – tickets are required and include the pre-concert talk, refreshments, and discounted reserved seating!

For tickets, please contact the Union Box Office at 704-894-2135. Free for Davidson students, but tickets are required.
