Campus Emergency Exercise Today - May 28, 2015

On Thursday, May 28, Davidson College will conduct a full-scale campus emergency exercise in conjunction with Davidson Police, Davidson Fire Department, Cornelius Fire Department, Mount Mourne Fire Department and Mooresville Fire Department.

The event will occur on the main campus area, and the college asks that the general public avoid the area as much as possible from 9 a.m. until noon. The event will include the presence of emergency vehicles, equipment and personnel.

The exercise is part of regular emergency preparedness activities the college performs every year.

Independent Research

Field and/or laboratory investigative work under the direction and supervision of a faculty member who reviews and approves the topic(s) of the independent study or research. Research is presented at the end of the semester in a scientific paper, with an additional oral presentation in some cases, e.g., requirement for honors thesis, requirement for funded research. The student is encouraged to plan the research project in advance of the semester in which it is to be completed.


Prerequisites vary by instructor and/or topic. Permission of the instructor is required.
