People have long tried to get their own way by playing roles, persuading, cajoling, manipulating, bargaining, teasing, pretending. We follow these themes in great authors: Racine, Camus, Balzac, Pr\00C3\00A9vert, Giraudoux, Anouilh, Follain, Marivaux. Plays, fiction, poetry.

Satisfies distribution requirement in Literary Studies, Creative Writing, and Rhetoric.


Prerequisites:

French 201 or above. (Fall)
