Philosophy of Science


This cpourse is about the nature of science, with a focus on Thomas Kuhn's pioneering and widely influential text, The Structure of Scientific revolutions.  Topics include the difference between science and pseudo-science, the rationality of scientific change, the aim of science, the role of values in science, and the objuectivity of scientific facts.

Counts as an elective for the Philosophy major and minor.

Satisfies the Philosophical and Religious Perspectives distribution requirement.
