Microfilm: the Magazine is filmed as part of the Sunday New York Times and usually appears after the main sequence of the paper.
Online: on the "advanced search" page, type "section(magazine)" and then limit by date. Finally, click on the "more search options" tab at the bottom of the advanced search screen and from the "Document Type" drop-down menu, choose "Display ad."
