The English department would like to congratulate the senior history majors who have been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa from the class of 2014. Phi Beta Kappa is the most prestigious academic honor society at Davidson College, and it is also the nation's oldest and most respected academic honor society. It promotes and celebrates excellence in the liberal arts.
To be candidates for election to Phi Beta Kappa, students must be seniors in good standing and of good character who have maintained an overall grade point average of 3.6 or above on at least 18 countable courses graded by Davidson professors. Elections take place at the beginning of the spring semester and are by ballot of the faculty and staff who are members of the chapter.
The history majors elected for this year's Phi Beta Kappa society were Katherine Louise Burd, Megan Mae Falvey, Ann Caroline Giornelli, and Christine Morgan Noah.
