Over the last few days, Apple has released several patches, covering both iOS and OS X. These patches are designed to repair a major flaw in Apple’s implementation of SSL. The details are technical, but the practical concern is that network activity that appears secure may not, in fact, be secure.
ITS strongly recommends you update your iPhones, iPads, iPods, and Macs immediately. In iOS, open the Settings app, tap General > Software Update, and install any available updates. In OS X, select Software Update from the Apple menu, install any available updates, and repeat until no additional updates are offered.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email the Help Desk.
