Teaching with iPads and Other Emerging Technologies, Call for Spring Semester Proposals

Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will continue the Teaching with iPads initiative in spring 2015 for faculty interested in investigating the pedagogical benefits of mobile technologies in teaching and learning. We welcome proposals that articulate a vision of how using iPads might enhance a course that you will be teaching. For the selected proposals, we will provide an iPad 2 for the instructor and for each student to keep for the duration of the course.

Additionally, next semester ITS will make available for investigative use in courses the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0, GoPro wearable camera and associated wearable accessories as well as a small number of Microsoft Surface Pros. Because we have limited numbers of each of these experimental technologies, faculty members might not have exclusive use throughout the semester.

If there are other new technologies you'd like to propose for a course you are teaching next semester, please let us know by filling out the technology in courses proposal form below. We are happy to explore the possibility of adding it to our course technology offerings.

To participate, please complete either the iPad Proposal Form (PDF) or the Technology in Courses Proposal Form (PDF) and return it to Rachel Stewart by email at rastewart@davidson.edu.
