WSOC TV News: Alumnus Injured in Boston Bombing Returns to Run Marathon

by Davidson College

A year ago JP Craven '11 was waiting for his father at the Boston Marathon finish line when an explosion went off, knocking him to the ground and leaving him with a head injury. Since the incident, he has formed a team for this year's race to raise funds for the Boston Medical Center out of appreciation for the life-saving care he received. Craven's team of eight is currently the leading team among 178 runners, with more than $145,000 raised and a goal of $175,000 by Monday.

The college community will be supporting Craven as he runs in the marathon this year. He will be joined by Davidson friends, high school friends and his father.
