The Chronicle of Higher Education: Davidson Cofounds Online Learning Consortium

Davidson College has formed a new consortium with Colgate University, Wellesley College and Hamilton College to share information, strategies and resources related to online learning initiatives. Davidson and these three partners were the first among small liberal arts colleges to join edX, the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform started by Harvard and MIT.

Professor of English Ann Fox explained the benefits of the consortium in a recent post on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Wired Campus” blog. “Very often in our small campuses we’re the only person who does what we do,” she said. “We can pool our resources more greatly.”
