Fox News interviewed Dr. Bill Winkenwerder '76, CEO of Highmark Health Services, about the slow demand for Obamacare on the first day of health exchanges.
Winkenwerder majored in pre-medicine and played football while at Davidson. He received his M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2001 to 2007, he served as the assistant secretary of defense for health affairs for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Winkenwerder is this year's James P. Hendrix Award winner.
