Sarah Friedensen '15 received the 2015 Physics Award for her exceptional contributions both in the classroom and to the community.
Friedensen combines excellence in scholarship and research with a laser-sharp incisive wit and demeanor. Her exceptional research activities began with the study of fluorescent minerals and a presentation at the International Conference on Luminescence in Poland. More recently her honors research focused on nanocrystal heaters and thermometers.
Friedensen received the Physics Award for her outstanding achievements in the physics classroom and laboratory, for service to the department, and for contributions to the community through the Society of Physics Students and the Women in Physics organization.
After graduation, Friedensen will attend the University of Pennsylvania to continue her studies. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors!
