This course is designed for both new and experienced teachers of AP English Literature. It will examine various aspects of the course from selecting texts to lesson plans, classroom pacing and standards and Internet activities. There will be practice in applying the AP rubric to actual student essays from past years, managing multiple choice and debriefing on the current year's exam.
Participants will practice timed writing and multiple choice as well as share teaching strategies that have worked in the AP English Literature classroom.
Participants will be asked to bring copies of lessons and read Faulkner's As I Lay Dying prior to attending the summer institute.
