Under the leadership of the Reverend W. Berly, the congregation of Grace Church built a house of worship, which was dedicated the fourth Sunday in August 1859. The next year the first regular pastor came on the field but the war between the States started and he left.
Over the years Grace Church has given and continues to give its members to the ministry, mission field, leadership of the Synod and itself to hosting the Synod five times, the Women's Missionary Society four times and the State Luther League two times.
