Mt. Tabor Mt. Tabor Church was organized in 1880 and with the leadership of Pastor J. L. Cromer in 1925 a new brick building was begun. Pastor Cromer asked the members to donate all the eggs laid on Sunday from their chickens to the new building. These eggs the pastor carried to the market and sold and along with the gifts of time, timber, and money their new building was completed within two years and dedicated free of debt on August 14, 1927. Mt. Tabor Church continues to provide leadership in the community and spiritual support in the area.
