St. Pauls
St. Pauls Church Dutch Fork South Carolina
In the Dutch Fork, Lutheran congregations have existed since about 1745. The year 1761 is accepted as being the date of organization of St. Pauls. The land on which the church stands was an original grant of sixty-eight acres from King George III, of England. St. Pauls along with 15 congregations was one of the forerunners of the formation of the South Carolina Synod. The Secretary and first Treasurer of the Synod was at that time pastor of St. Pauls, the Reverend S. Herscher.

The present church structure, built of native granite, was dedicated in 1938, with the first service being held on March 20. Over 14 members have entered into fulltime service of the ministry.
