Emergency Student Loan: Price Loan Program


Davidson College makes available funds to students for emergency purposes. Transfer of these funds requires authorization from the Dean of Students Office. The funds must be paid back within one year of receiving the loan, or by graduation if borrowed during the student's senior year.


This policy seeks to inform students of the availability of loans for emergency expenses.


The Office of the Dean of Students may authorize an emergency loan to students. Payment is required according to the terms, and in all cases, prior to graduation.

The Dean of Students reserves complete discretion as to whether the circumstances for which the loan will be used qualify as an emergency.

Administration of Policy

The Controller/Director of Business Services shall oversee this policy and review it at least once every two years. Changes to this policy shall be made in accordance with the college's Policy on Policies.

The student receiving the loan must sign an agreement stating the amount of money needed and by what date the loan will be repaid.

If the student does not pay by the agreed deadline, the Accounts Receivable associate should receive an email from the Dean of Students Office requesting that the student's account be charged and that the Price Fund be credited.

The charge code for the Price Loan is PRIL.

To bill the student: Go into TSAAREV. Enter Student's ID number. Enter. Ctrl Pg Down. F6. Enter charge code from above, term, and amount. F10 to save. File in the monthly billings folder.
