Biohazardous Materials Prohibition Policy


This policy seeks to inform Lula Bell Houston Laundry customers of the laundry's inability to launder certain types of garments.


The Lula Bell Houston Laundry shall not accept any garment stained or suspected to be stained with any Biohazardous Material. These items shall be returned unwashed with instructions that the garment be cared for by the owner.


"Biohazardous Material" refers to infectious agents or hazardous biological materials that present a risk or potential risk to the health of humans, animals or the environment. The risk can be direct through infection or indirect through damage to the environment. Examples include, but are not limited to, blood, vomit, acid, toxins or venoms of any kind, parasites, viruses, bacteria, or fungi.

Administration of Policy

The Director of Laundry Services shall oversee this policy and review it at least once every two years. Changes to this policy shall be made in accordance with the college's Policy on Policies.
