College Store Sale of Copyrighted Materials Upon Faculty Request

Occasionally, faculty members may request that the College Store make course packets available to students for classroom use. These packets are reproduced from original copyrighted documents.

This policy seeks to inform faculty members of their obligation to comply with all applicable copyright laws when requesting that the College Store sell copyrighted materials.

All faculty members shall obtain permission to copy materials from the publisher prior to submitting copyrighted materials to Central Services for reproduction and the College Store for sale.

Administration of Policy

The Auxiliary Services Director shall oversee this policy and review it at least once every two years. Changes to this policy shall be made in accordance with the college's Policy on Policies.

Any questions regarding the sale of copyrighted materials may be directed to the textbook manager or Melanie McAlpine, administrative assistant, at 704-894-2321.
